Soul Food

Colossians 3:12-14

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”

Philippians 4:5

“Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.”

Do you think it’s ‘in you’ to make people feel that way?
    Why or why not?

  • What would have to change in you in order for people to want to be with you and around you?
Do you think you can bring about that change?
Do you think you need outside help to bring about that change and if so, who or what is that outside help?

Soul Moves

  • Some people don’t really think about how they are affecting others.
    Does that describe you?
If so, ask God to help you care about how others feel when they’re around you.

  • Read God’s Word, the Bible, and find out how what it says about how you should treat others.
If you treat others the way the Bible tells you to, then people will feel valued, honored, loved and appreciated by you.

  • Ask others who know you what you’re honestly like to be around.
If there are things about the way you speak to or treat people that leave them feeling badly, pay attention to those things and determine to do something to change them.

  • Acknowledge that you might need a ‘heart change’ and that Someone outside of you needs to help you achieve that change.
Ask God to change you through a relationship with His Son, Jesus Christ.
