About Us:
CORE BELIEFS
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38,39).
PREFACE
I believe God loves all mankind passionately and deeply. So passionately and deeply that it killed Him.
Jesus willingly chose to die because of the joy He had in providing a way for all people to become part of God’s family.
I believe that those who lived in the first few centuries following Jesus’s earthly existence had the best view and perspectives for framing the foundational tenets of Christianity. Because of this, my personal beliefs that follow are derived from, and rooted in, the beliefs outlined in the Apostles’ Creed (5th century) and the Nicene Creed (381 A.D.)
I BELIEVE THE FOLLOWING:
I believe in God the Father, who created the earth and is perfect in holiness and awesome in power. (Col 1:16, Psalm 145:5-6)
I believe in Jesus Christ as the risen son of God, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary and though tempted in every way, perfect and sinless. (Matt 1:18-25, Heb 4:15)
I believe that Christ died on the cross according to Father God’s perfect plan and will, paying for the sins of the world. (John 3:16)
I believe in Jesus’s bodily resurrection and that after appearing to the disciples here on earth, He ascended to heaven where He sits at the right hand of God and intercedes for His people. (Rom 8:34)
I believe that I can have an intimate, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and thus with God the Father. I trust and depend on Christ. (Galatians 4:6-7)
I believe that our faith in Christ sets us free from the law of sin, allowing us to live by righteousness that comes from God and is no longer based on our performance. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
I believe in the Holy Spirit, sent to convict the world of sin, and who is part of the trinity and Himself God. (John 16:7-9)
I believe that through the power of the Holy Spirit, we the Church are able to hear the voice of God and are commissioned to preach the gospel and heal the sick. (Matt 28:18-20, James 5:14-16)
I believe, and wait in great expectation, for Christ’s return according to His promise in the scriptures. (John 14:3)
I believe that as heirs of Christ and sons and daughters of God, the Spirit has been placed in us, the Church, and now resides in each of us as our Counselor, guiding and teaching us in all truth. (John 14:16-17, 26)
I believe that by nature, all men are sinners but God pardons us through the redemption that came from Christ. (Rom 3:23-24)
I believe that those who repent of their sins and put their faith and trust in Christ as Lord and Savior will have eternal life. (Rom 10:9-10)
I believe that those who refuse to accept salvation from Christ will be eternally separated from God. (Matt 10:32-33)
I believe the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and “the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.” (2 Tim 3:16, Rom 1:16)
I believe the Bible has supreme and absolute authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (2 Tim 3:16-17)
I believe God gave us the Bible as His manual for life, love and happiness.
My beliefs are why I am inspired and motivated to see people enter into a life-changing, life-long relationship with the living Word – Jesus – and the written Word – the Holy Bible.
THE APOSTLES’ CREED
Church of England version in Common Worship (2000)
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic (universal) Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
Amen.
THE NICENE CREED
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, the maker of heaven and earth, of things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the begotten of God the Father, the Only-begotten, that is of the substance of the Father.
God of God, Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten and not made; of the very same nature of the Father, by Whom all things came into being, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible.
Who for us humanity and for our salvation came down from heaven, was incarnate, became human, was born perfectly of the holy virgin Mary by the Holy Spirit.
By whom He took body, soul, and mind, and everything that is in man, truly and not in semblance.
He suffered, was crucified, was buried, rose again on the third day, ascended into heaven with the same body, [and] sat at the right hand of the Father.
He is to come with the same body and with the glory of the Father, to judge the living and the dead; of His kingdom there is no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the uncreate and the perfect; Who spoke through the Law, the prophets, and the Gospels; Who came down upon the Jordan, preached through the apostles, and lived in the saints.
I believe also in only One, Universal, Apostolic, and [Holy] Church; in one baptism with repentance for the remission and forgiveness of sins; and in the resurrection of the dead, in the everlasting judgement of souls and bodies, in the Kingdom of Heaven and in the everlasting life.
