God Is Our Wonderful, Caring Counselor

Isaiah 9:6

Ask God for His counsel when you need advice and direction; His counsel is the absolute best

Soul Food

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

– Isaiah 9:6

Soul Search

  • When you need direction and advice do you readily ask for help?
Or do you do whatever it takes to avoid asking anyone for help?

  • Do you have any memorable or interesting stories to share about not asking for advice or directions?

  • If you tend to avoid asking for help – or you’re one who refuses to pull over to ask for directions – do you know why you practice avoidance in asking for help or directions?

  • Can you think of a time when you didn’t ask for advice or direction but looking back you wish you had?
    What happened?

  • Can you think of a time when you did ask for advice and help and looking back you are so thankful you did?

Soul Moves

  • Go deep inside and ask God to help you see for yourself why you avoid getting advice or direction from anyone outside of you.

  • Take an inventory of your thoughts and beliefs and get in touch with whether or not you believe God genuinely cares about you.
Whether or not He cares enough about you to give you advice and direction that will further you successfully on the journey we call life.

  • Ask God to show you why you might struggle with believing that God cares specifically about you.
And then ask Him what you and He together are going to do about it.
