God helps us get the provision we need

Matthew 6:7-13  &  Psalm 139:2

God knows when we run out of supplies and food; He gives us food just in time.

Soul Food

“’And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. This, then, is how you should pray:

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come,

your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts,

as we also have forgiven our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one.’”

- Matthew 6:7-13 (NIV)

“O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me.

You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.”

– Psalm 139:1,2 (NLT)

Soul Search

  • Do you remember one or more times in your life when you were desperate about something – maybe a specific need you had - and wondered how that need would be met?

  • Have you ever been isolated or felt alone and didn’t know who would even be aware of your situation to be able to help?
    What did you do?

  • Do you know someone who you think might be in a desperate situation and have you gone the extra mile to try to help them?
Is it possible that God is putting someone on your heart and in your mind because He wants to work through you to see their need met?

Soul Moves

  • Pray to God who knows your thoughts from far away and who knows everything about you – even when you sit and when you stand.
Ask Him to meet the needs you have and to have Him reveal His love, care and power to you through answered prayer.
Just remember to pray that His will is done above and beyond your what your desires are.

  • Stop for some moments and ask God to bring to your mind anyone who He might want you to help in some way.
Even as you pray for God to meet your needs, remember that He knows how to drop your name into someone else’s head and heart who is praying about who they can help.
It’s just as nice – and even nicer – to be the one meeting the need as it is to be the one receiving the answer to the need.
