Stand Up & Take Care Of Threats - Don't Be Passive When Harmful Threats Are Around

Matthew 26:52

Don't stand back passively when threats come to your family and friends. Be an agent of protection for those who are in your world.

"Put your sword back in its place,’ Jesus said to him, ‘for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.

Soul Search

  • Can you see harmful situations or people around you that threaten the well-being of others who are close by?
Can you make a list of situations and/or people that pose a threat?

  • When you see inappropriate and/or bad behavior in people around you – especially those in your family and possibly even friends – do you confront (or ‘address’) that behavior so as to bring correction and healing?
If you don’t confront it or address it, why not?

  • What is it about you that causes you to not get involved or intervene in threatening situations? Can you be honest with yourself to objectively see why you don’t or won’t get involved?

Soul Moves

  • Ask God to help you be a person who takes action when you see bad and/or inappropriate behavior taking place – especially when others are being hurt.

  • Ask God to help you see yourself clearly and show you why you don’t intervene when you can play a part in defusing an otherwise challenging and difficult situation.
Pray and ask God to help you have the courage to get involved when you see threats that can harm others.

  • Ask God in prayer to help you become an agent of healing in others’ lives.
Ask God to help you see yourself as an active part of a solution rather than as a passive part of a continuing problem.
