Parting Ways Can Be God's Miracle of Reassignment

Isaiah 43:1,2,18,19

Parting ways isn't always a bad thing; God can use 'partings' to ready us for new partnerships.

“Now this is what the LORD says—He who created you, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine! When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you go through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched; the flames will not set you ablaze.”

- Isaiah 43:1,2

“Do not call to mind the former things; pay no attention to the things of old. Behold, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert.”

- Isaiah 43:18,19

Soul Moves

  • Ask God in prayer to give you the strength and willingness to re-visit a painful breakup in your life.
Whether it was a person, a group of people (maybe family members) or an organization ask God to take you back to a place of hurt that maybe you’ve avoided or ignored but never totally dealt with and experienced healing in.

  • Ask God to show you the part you may have played in contributing to the breakup.
Be open to seeing your own sin or failure(s) that helped lead to the breakup.
Confess your mistakes and sins and ask God to forgive you.

  • Ask God to show you if you need to go to some people and ask their forgiveness for the role you played in the breakup.
Ask God to show you His redemptive purposes in the breakup and to give you a vision for the life that He has for you in the future in spite of the broken relationship.
