Look Up From What You're Doing & See Where You Can Lend A Hand

Philippians 2:4; Luke 21:28

The world's gravity often keeps your head down. Defy gravity and lift up your head up long enough to see where you can help others.

Philippians 2:4: (NIV)

“Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.”

Luke 21:28 (NLT)

“So when all these things begin to happen, stand and look up, for your salvation is near!”

Soul Search

  • Can you perform an honest analysis of yourself by asking yourself how often each day your head is down focused on your own ‘stuff’ while not seeing what is going on around you?

  • What takes the majority of your time and attention?
Can you call those things out that are unhealthily distracting you from helping and/or paying attention to the people around you?

  • In what ways do you believe the people in your life need more of you?
Can you enumerate the ways that God has created you and gifted you to be of the most help to the people around you?

Soul Moves

  • Ask God to show you clearly what things are unnecessarily taking up too much of your time and attention each day.
    List them out.

  • Ask God to give you the strength and courage to break the habit of spending too much time, energy, and even resources on things that take you away from what, and/or who, is most important to God.

  • Make a written list of the people in your life that need more of your time and attention.
Include in that list how and when you are going to get with them and share yourself and your talents with them.
